Rich Mullins October 21, 1955 - September 19, 1997
He touched the lives of
so many and was truly a blessing to all who met him. While I feel privileged to
have known him for a short while at Central Christian Church, I rejoice that he
is now at home with his Savior whom he so freely shared. His song, "Step By
Step" was especially meaningful to me as my desire is to follow Jesus as He
leads me through this world "step-by-step" one day at a time. Thank you, Rich,
for enriching my life and encouraging me to keep my eyes on Jesus. I'll miss
you.

Ragamuffin 'Ragamuffin' is
based on the life of Rich Mullins, a musical prodigy who rose to Christian
music fame and fortune only to walk away and live on a Navajo reservation. An
artistic genius, raised on a tree farm in Indiana by a callous father, Rich
wrestled all of his life with the brokenness and crippling insecurity born of
his childhood. A lover of Jesus and a rebel in the church, Rich refused to let
his struggles with his own darkness tear him away from a God he was determined
to love. As he struggled with success in Nashville and depression in Wichita,
Rich desired most of all to live a life of honest and reckless faith amidst a
culture of religion and conformity.

Mullins: A Devotional Biography: An Arrow Pointing to Heaven During his

his legacy of joy, compassion, brokenness, unblinking honesty, and wonder of an

with the same depth and simplicity that characterized his music. The World As I
Remember It is a collection of these personal writings, complemented by
striking photography and some of Rich's most memorable quotations. This
one-of-a-kind collection will be cherished not only by his fans, but by anyone

The
Ragamuffin Gospel: Good News for the Bedraggled, Beat-Up, and Burnt Out Brennan Manning
wrote The Ragamuffin Gospel "for the bedraggled, beat-up, and burnt-out," the
marginalized folks to whom Jesus ministered: the children, the ill, the tax
collectors, the women. In other words, the ragamuffins. Manning understands
better than most that behind our facades of order and self-assurance are
inadequacies that can find healing only in Jesus. While the powerful and
religious elite challenged him, Jesus embraced and healed and fed the needs of
the ragamuffins. Jesus delivered love, healing, and, most of all,
grace.
