Hate Mail Received by the Jeremiah Project

America's social reformers close their eyes to reality and blame us Christians -- America's only hope, for all their frustrations. In their anger and frustration, they do everything they can do to make us appear foolish -- particularly if we acknowledge God's power in public or if we run for office or get involved in influencing public policy.

There is a cultural war going on, and the pagan left know they can't win in the arena of ideas. Their ideas have long been discredited. Big government solutions have failed. Permissive familes have disintegrated. So they have resorted to the low road of name calling and divisiveness based on religion.

Using some of their own politically correct "anti-discrimination" policies, some are beginning to discriminate against Christians who they disagree with (as I've recently experienced with one affiliate program I was associated with). They refer to committed Christians in as derogatory terms as possible. Since they frown on anyone making any absolute or exclusive claims, they stigmatize anyone who does with labels such as:

Liberals are quick to say that speech that agrees with them is "free speech," while speech that disagrees is "hate speech." You don't have to be a rocket scientist to recognize who is really speaking hate. Here's what some of them are saying...

Even Europeans like Anton writes, "I did a search for Bill Clinton's email address and web site so that I could send a critical email about the USA and its behaviour towards the rest of the world. I came across a load of religious crap about what Clinton and his cronies are doing or not doing for the environment.
The truth is that the USofA is the most wasteful country in the world and in human history. Not only does it waste time and effort propagating religious/'american values' crap in its efforts at world domination, but it wastes the very planet that we ALL live on. The USofA has a few percent of the world's population but consumes more than half of the world's resources. OK, you may not see this as important, as you have deluded yourselves into thinking that some arse-licking super-diety (who you call GOD) will come down and rescue all you righteous bigots for ultimate salvation -this is clearly rabid non-sense.

I'm hardly proud of a country where 1.5 million babies are murdered in their mothers womb every year ... where thousands of babies are murdered only seconds from delivery and inches from life ... where violence, hunger, drug abuse and lonliness is standard fare for our children ... where truth is no longer tolerated and lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, etc. are elevated to a virtue ... where God is mocked and the people choose to follow all sorts of deviant beliefs ... where sexuality is debased and a sexual revolution has twisted our sexual roles ... where the Whitehouse and Federal office buildings are occupied by criminals ... where the future financial security of the children and elderly are being pilfered to pay for present indulgences ... where education has been replaced with sensitivity training ... where the Constitution is being ignored and Constitutional rights are trampled on by a modernist, liberal, socialist movement ... and to top it all off - the people like it that way. Who's disgusting, repulsive, and offensive? Do you see the problem here? All the above has been redefined by liberals as being 'mainstream' and anyone who might dare question them is labeled an extremist. [ed.]

You sound like your live your life that everything is going to hell and a handbasket in our country today. I'm sorry to hear that. There are so many things going right about our country today, and that happens not because any one man is president. Life in these United States is more representative by our neighborhoods, our families, our friends, our local community. President Clinton is our president, for one one reason and one reason only. People voted for him. He won. Your guy lost. Why don't you get on with your life and wait for 2000? I respect President Clinton because I respect the office that he holds. I was never a fan of President Reagan's or President Bush's political policies, but I always respected them as our nation's leader.

The so-called research Jerry refers to is an APA-approved study, "Is Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal?" (1996 Vol. 105, No. 3 Journal of Abnormal Psychology). In it, the study puports to show that people who object to homosexuality are really aroused by it, unlike people who aren't "homophobic." This nonsense is, of course, another example of the hatred that homosexuals have for normal heterosexual people - especially those who point out their sickness to them - and is an attempt to further label as mental illness any moral objection to homosexuality.
The APA (American Psychological Association) is the same group that released another study that said child molestation with "willing" children might not be harmful. (July 1998 Psychological Bulletin). The authors suggest in considering non-coercive sex that: "A willing encounter with positive reactions would be labeled simply adult-child sex, a value-neutral term."
The homosexual rights movement wants more than "tolerance." Its final goal is for homosexuality to be considered acceptable and normal. It clear these folks will not stop even when they have been granted all the rights and benefits of traditional married couples, they even want to legitimize pedophilia - THEY WANT YOUR CHILDREN!
The Christian position is clear: Homosexuality is an abomination, and we do not teach "tolerance" of a perverse criminal behavior, any more than we would teach "tolerance" of child abuse, spousal abuse, pedophilia, rape, murder, cocaine dealing or embezzlement. [ed.]

A person who didn't leave their name wrote, "What this country needs is another self important pseudo-Christian to hack the office of the president before growing children. The future voters of this country will never,ever,ever see any reason to respect any president regardless of party or religious affiliation. I find the self proclaim Christians to be the most mean spirited and unChristlike group of indiviuals to walk this earth. I would like to add that as an American I will defend your right to say whatever you choose. I must say, however, I was extremely disappointed with your response to Heather on your "hate mail" page. It appears you called her an angry feminist just because you wanted to insult her and couldn't think of anything better. As a woman I find it offensive when people dismiss me as an angry feminist (or, in Rush's slang, a feminazi) simply because I speak out. Heather calling you a bigot seemed to be based on a reading of the ideas you presented on your pages. I can see where she might get that idea. Your calling her an angry feminist had no basis, I cannot see how you might justify that.
Most feminists (the quiet majority) are not the man-hating militants with whom the media seem so entranced. They are women who believe they have a position in this society equal to that of men. I am a feminist, any woman who gets up in the morning and says, "I deserve to be treated well and respected for who I am" is a feminist. A more tolerant understanding of this might make your ideas more palpable to women and the men who love and respect them."

God alone knows motives, but we can certainly judge words and actions against the standards of God's Word. And, in fact, we are required to do so. The Bible tells Christians to test all things, ourselves included (2 Cor. 13:5 and 1 Jn. 4:1). And Jesus Himself commanded us "to judge with righteous judgment" (John 7:24). Heather's words judge themselves, I don't need to. And the words and actions of NOW and other organizations espousing the feminist agenda speak for themselves as well. [ed.]

I used to be a Republican myself, but this sort of hatefulness has sent me running from my former party. I am now, proudly, an Independent, voting only for open-minded, progressive, MODERATE candidates, like our great Sen. Nancy Kassebaum, Gov. Bill Graves, soon-to-be-Congressman Randy Rathbun, and, yes, PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON (not perfect, but by God, he beats the alternative).

These people's anger is so deep they even extend their emotions to God. Maybe Mack would strike dead those he disagrees with, but God works differently. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. I found it interesting that your comments to all your adversaries weren't more comprehensive. Why not reply intelligently to their comments? Some were well thought out and deserved an answer from someone who seems to be as opinionated as they are.
My main comment is this: your cartoon featured on what I think I remember to be the main page (at the top of this page [ed.]) was perplexing. Is it not clear what is going on there? Of course the Christians are the intolerant ones (in that situation). I don't know that the people yelling on the other side are necessarily going to get results from their non-constructive behavior, but do you not recognize the intolerance that is so often spread when we refuse to stop and try to see from where it is people are speaking?
I don't know if you can write back to this on the account that I have listed, but I'd appreciate a reply more responsible than the little soundbites that appear on the page. Thanks.

It isn't "religion" they hate - or born again Christians. They despise Jesus Christ. Their eyes are blinded by Satan's lies, most of them don't realize the hatred they have for our Lord. Many of them deny it -- even claiming church membership. But, the Bible tells us, "ye shall know them by their fruits." They, along with much of American culture have embraced a philosophy of pluralism, tolerance, and situation ethics. Despite their self-proclaimed position of open-mindedness and tolerance, notice how Christianity is always unacceptable -- even considered laughable.

But in it all, you need to remember that these are very tolerant people who cherish diversity - as long as your religious values (or lack of) are the same as theirs.

Why are they so afraid of Jesus?
