About the Jeremiah Project

The Jeremiah Project is a response to...

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD" - Amos 8:11

The Jeremiah Project began in 1992 as a "print" ministry of proclaiming God's Word to a lost and dying world. Its mailing list was limited and compiled from names found in newspaper articles, letters to the editor, and recommendations from others. Early in 1996, the Lord moved me to continue publishing the material on the Internet as it greatly expanded the audience at a much lower cost. To date, the Jeremiah Project has logged over 6.6 million page views of material with an average of over 1,000 unique visitors per day (far more than I could have reached by mail).

Like Jeremiah, I feel I am "only a child" (Jer. 1:6) and have little influence to offer discernment in this hurting and dying world, but also like Jeremiah, I am willing to obey God and proclaim Him and His Word to those who are impoverished.

Unlike Jeremiah, I am no prophet; I have no special revelations from God to share with you. I am a student of God's word and a seeker of truth. I am also a teacher who wishes to share with you what I am learning and an encourager to let you know that God loves you and wants you to enjoy His many blessings.

And I agree with the prophet Isaiah as he proclaimed the words of God...

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. [Isaiah 55:10-11]

My heart is broken to see the modern compromised church and the many errors it is falling prey to. At times it can be so confusing for those not grounded in God's Word as to what the truth really is. With all the competing teachings and doctrines put forth by the various denominations, it's little wonder people can make sense of it all. But I've learned to not rely on those teachings but rather rely on the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit and to compare those teachings from denominational Christianity with the teaching found in Scripture.

I believe far too many people have one foot in the church and one foot in the world, while others don't even see the need for the church. All the while, society blurs the distinction between what is good and evil, true and false, and many people fall prey to its deceptions. Indeed, society today has turned upside down the morals and truths we've held in the past. It calls those good things evil, and the evil things good.

I believe the message of Jeremiah is as appropriate for us today as it was when he first delivered it. Maybe even more so as I believe that Jesus will soon return for His remnant church and those who have rejected His message, like the Israelites of Jeremiah's time, will face certain judgement.

The message I have to share with you is: WAKE UP!
Find a Bible and read for yourself what the Creator of the universe says. It's not a message clouded in obscurity for ages gone by. Rather, it is a clear message for you today.

I regretfully accept the fact that not everyone who reads these pages will agree with what they find here, nor will everyone respond in a loving manner. In Scripture as well as in history we find that the truth of the gospel has generally been hated, reviled, and persecuted. In fact, Jeremiah, because he reproved the scribes for their false doctrine and wickedness, admonished the ignorant, and urged the wicked population to repent... was called by the scribes a heretic and deceiver, and by the princes a seditionist and troublemaker. Nonetheless, he was chosen of God to be a prophet and speak the words of the Lord.

The message I have to share with those who are awake is to PREPARE!
I believe there will be difficult times ahead for mankind and Christians need to be grounded in God's Word, secure in their faith, and prepared to overcome the difficulties. In fact, the prepared Christian will be in a better position to become a life-line for those not prepared.

I know that I cannot change others minds about what God says through His Word. In fact, that's not my responsibility. But, He has called me to be a "watchman," if you will, and to proclaim His truth through the ministry of the Jeremiah Project.

Statement of Faith

I Believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

I Believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I Believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, bodily ascension into heaven, and His personal return once again in power and glory.

I Believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. That salvation cannot be gained by human effort, but only through God's grace in the redemption He provided in Jesus Christ, a redemption which is responded to by faith and which leads to a life devoted to obeying God.

I Believe in following Christ in Baptism. An outward sign of an inward commitment.

I Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

I Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

In these pages we will look at the world today from a distinctively Christian worldview. I won't "tickle your ears" but rather proclaim the sometimes hard truth that America so desperately needs to hear.
