A Call to Persevere
In a world that often feels chaotic and full of differing voices, the short book of Jude packs a powerful punch, offering timeless wisdom for believers. Specifically, Jude 17-23 gives us a clear guide on how to stand firm and thrive in our faith!
Jude warns us about those who sow division and follow their own desires (vv. 17-19).
But then he turns our attention to what we, as believers, are called to do:
- Build yourselves up in your most holy faith: Continuously learn, grow, and strengthen your understanding of God’s truth.
- Praying in the Holy Spirit: Let your prayers be guided and empowered by the Spirit, connecting deeply with God’s heart.
- Keep yourselves in the love of God: Live in active obedience and dependence, remaining in His perfect love.
- Waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life: Maintain an eternal perspective, looking forward to His return and our ultimate hope.
And finally, Jude calls us to action towards others (vv. 22-23):
- Show mercy to those who doubt: Offer compassion and understanding.
- Save others by snatching them from the fire: Share the Gospel with urgency and love, helping them escape the grip of sin.
- Show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh: Discernment is key; help others escape sin while remaining pure ourselves.
This passage is a beautiful reminder of our responsibility to grow spiritually and to reach out to those around us with love and truth.

The world is a mess and getting worse by the day. Fewer people are Christians and cults are thriving everywhere.
Muslims are gaining control of many parts of nations and even in America they hold congressional seats.
Evil in every form and crime is rampant in most cities and other areas.
Bringing people to Jesus Christ is our goal!
Blessings to you at the Jeremiah Project and all your followers!
Thanks Paul. I’m amazed at how similar our world is today compared to the time of Jude.
