Jeremiah ProjectThe Jeremiah Project is an independent Christian ministry dedicated to proclaiming biblical truth, examining the signs of our times, encouraging Christians to stand firmly on Scripture, and helping people prepare spiritually for the challenges ahead.

The Jeremiah Project is a response to…

“Behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord God, “when I will send a famine on the land— not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.” – Amos 8:11

I cannot and will not live in a world where the Word of God is silenced, where truth is treated as optional, and where obedience is dismissed as old‑fashioned. In these days when darkness presses hard, I feel the fire of His Word rising in me like a trumpet blast — a call to return, to repent, to stand firm. “Cry aloud, do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet” (Isaiah 58:1).

I will proclaim His truth because there is still hope — real, blood‑bought hope — for all who believe. “For in Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:4–5). No matter how loud the world becomes, His Word will be louder in me.

How the Jeremiah Project Began

vic at computer in the early days of the Jeremiah ProjectThe Jeremiah Project began in 1992 as a simple print ministry, committed to proclaiming God’s Word to a lost and dying world. In those early days, the mailing list was small — gathered from newspaper articles, letters to the editor, and personal recommendations. But in 1996, the Lord stirred my heart to take the message online, opening a door to reach far more people at a fraction of the cost. Since then, the Jeremiah Project has recorded millions of page views and now welcomes more than 1,000 unique visitors each day — far beyond anything that could have been accomplished through traditional mail. The reach has grown, but the mission remains the same: to lift up God’s truth in a world desperate to hear it.

Like Jeremiah, I recognize my own limitations and inadequacy to influence this hurting and dying world. Jeremiah responded to God’s call by saying, ‘I do not know how to speak; I am too young’ (Jeremiah 1:6).  Also like Jeremiah, I am willing to obey God and proclaim Him and His Word to those who are impoverished (Jeremiah 1:7-8).

Unlike Jeremiah, I am no prophet; I have no special revelations from God to share with you. I am a student of God’s word and a seeker of truth. The pages contained within this Jeremiah Project website are not meant to be a scholarly manuscript “proving” some theological perspective of Scripture. It is more of a “journal” describing my journey of learning and “experiencing” Bible truth, putting Scripture into practical terms when possible, and challenging you to seek God’s Truth on the path He leads you. I am also a teacher who wishes to share with you what I am learning and an encourager to let you know that God loves you and wants you to enjoy His many blessings.

My confidence is not ultimately in my ability to communicate. It is in God’s Word.

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. [Isaiah 55:10-11]

In my walk with Christ, there have been many times I feel discouraged.  The enemy has laid siege at the door to my heart and tells me I have nothing worthwhile to share, and nobody is listening.  During those discouraging times, I am reminded of David’s confidence when he faced Goliath… “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.” [1 Samuel 17:45]  It’s often during those discouraging times that I’m lifted up and encouraged by others acknowledging their faith in Christ and how they’ve been encouraged by the words I’ve shared here on the Jeremiah Project.

I regretfully accept the fact that not everyone who reads these pages will agree with what they find here, nor will everyone respond in a loving manner. In Scripture as well as in history we find that the truth of the gospel has generally been hated, reviled, and persecuted. In fact, Jeremiah, because he reproved the scribes for their false doctrine and wickedness, admonished the ignorant, and urged the wicked population to repent… was called by the scribes a heretic and deceiver (conspiracy theorist), and by the political princes a seditionist and troublemaker. Nonetheless, he was chosen of God to be a prophet and speak the words of the Lord.

Like in Jeremiah’s time, my heart is broken to see the modern compromised church and the many errors it is falling prey to. At times it can be so confusing for those not grounded in God’s Word as to what the truth really is. With all the competing teachings and doctrines put forth by the various denominations, it’s little wonder people can make sense of it all. The Bereans examined Paul’s teaching against the Word (Acts 17:11) — and that example has shaped me. I’ve learned not to rely solely on denominational teachings, but to depend on the Holy Spirit’s teaching ministry and to compare every doctrine with Scripture itself while testing everything and holding fast what is good [1 Thessalonians 5:21].

I believe far too many people have one foot in the church and one foot in the world, while others don’t even see the need for the church. All the while, society blurs the distinction between what is good and evil, true and false, and many people fall prey to its deceptions. Indeed, society today has turned upside down the morals and truths taught in Scripture. It calls those good things evil, and the evil things good.

Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you. [Revelation 3:3]

I believe the message of Jeremiah is as appropriate for us today as it was when he first delivered it. Maybe even more so as I believe that Jesus will soon return for His remnant church and those who have rejected His message, like the Israelite’s of Jeremiah’s time, will face certain judgement.

You see, it’s not my message I hope you hear… it’s a message God laid upon my heart and sent me out to share with you.

The message I have to share with you is: WAKE UP!
Find a Bible and read for yourself what the Creator of the universe says. It’s not a message clouded in obscurity for ages gone by. Rather, it is a clear message for you today. Ask God to open your heart and your mind as you read.  Ask God to show you what He wants you to know. He will show you.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. [Matthew 7:7-8]

The message I have to share with those who are awake is to PREPARE!
I believe there will be difficult times ahead for mankind and Christians need to be grounded in God’s Word, secure in their faith, and prepared to overcome the difficulties. In fact, the prepared Christian will be in a better position to become a life-line for those not prepared.

I know that I cannot change others minds about what God says through His Word. In fact, that’s not my responsibility. The biblical imagery of the watchman [Ezekiel 33:1–7] provides a useful description of the responsibility I believe this ministry should embrace: faithfully warning, encouraging and pointing people back to God’s Word.

Statement of Faith

I Believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. [2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20–21]

I Believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. [Matthew 28:19–20]

I Believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ [John 1:1–3], His virgin birth [Matthew 1:18–25], sinless life [Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:22], miracles [John 20:30–31], atoning death on the cross [Isaiah 53:4–6; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Corinthians 15:3], bodily resurrection [1 Corinthians 15:3–8; Luke 24:36–43], bodily ascension into heaven [Acts 1:9–11], and His personal return once again in power and glory [Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11–16].

I Believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. That salvation cannot be gained by human effort, but only through God’s grace in the redemption He provided in Jesus Christ, a redemption which is responded to by faith and which leads to a life devoted to obeying God. [John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; Ephesians 2:10]

I believe believers should follow Christ in baptism as an act of obedience and public identification with Him. [Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4]

I Believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. [John 14:16–17; Romans 8:9–14; 1 Corinthians 6:19]

I Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. [John 5:28–29; Daniel 12:2]
