A Church Ministry Idea
Are you involved with a church and want a good ministry idea? Then listen up because I have an idea and want it to happen, but right now I could only help with information. Let the love of Christ shine.
When someone gets diagnosed with Covid, they are told to stay home and not associate with anyone. That creates a problem, especially if you are low income and don’t have what you need on hand. Oftentimes the person required to quarantine themselves also loses their income and don’t know how they’ll buy their next meal.
Why not minister to the community by taking needed items to these people.
You can drop them on the porch or by the door, ring the bell or knock or even text, then go.
As I look at it here would be your issues. Who do you help? Here in Wichita I want to suggest that you take referrals from Christians you trust. This is community service, not just service to your own church, so you need to consider how to reach out. Often the very one who might want to reach out, me for example, may not be able to. I don’t drive, don’t have much extra money, and currently cannot venture out because someone I know and had contact with has the virus. Otherwise I might try to start something like this on my own.
Want more details? I have a few I can share. If interested please email prayerpartnerpat@gmail.com and I will get with you. Yes this sounds pretty broad based, caring for our community in this crisis, yet it does present an opportunity to show God’s love in a real and physical way.
This idea came to me and so I share. If this is from God then please consider and act upon it. God loves our community. Do we?
