A Living Faith
“When Darius got there he cried out in anguish, Daniel, servant of the living God whom you serve so faithfully, was your God able to save you from the lions? Daniel answered, long live the king. My God sent his angel to shut the lions’ mouths so that they would not hurt me, for I have been found innocent in his sight and I have not wronged you your majesty.” Daniel 6:20-22
Daniel lives! Can’t you just see the relief in the eyes of Darius? After all he didn’t want Daniel to die. God protected Daniel and now Darius has seen what the living God can do. Praise the Lord!
God, according to Daniel, sent an angel. Yes God uses angels to do his mighty works at times. I know some like to think of angels as fictional characters, but your Bible says otherwise. Angels serve God and we so often benefit from their service.
Questions to ponder as you consider our text. Dare to actually think about this and not just move on in your thoughts.
1. Have you ever had a den of lions experience that God has rescued you from?
2. Do you really believe God uses angels even today? Why or why not?
3. How has your faith in difficult times impacted another person?
