If it sounds too good to be true…
“The simple believes everything but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.” Proverbs 14:15
Do you believe what the TV news tells you? Do you act upon that belief? This short proverb deserves our attention. Yes the press can and will lie. Yes some preachers also lie. We dare not take them at their word.
Usually I do not wax political when posting scripture, however, when what I hear does not add up with what I actually know or experience then I need to question. Earlier I heard one from the government state in an interview that our economy was fine and that inflation was not really an issue. Oh really? Then why the high price of gasoline? Why does the grocery bill continue to rise? When a government official stands up on TV and out and out lies to us we need to engage our brains and not simply accept what is being said.
If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is too good to be true. When you listen to or read media information do not simply take it as truth. Engage your mind in the process. What is part of this story that is being left out? Is this fact or opinion? Has this been put out here by the press in order to promote a certain view or am I actually receiving fact based info? Folks we dare not take everything shown to us as the gospel truth. There are agendas at play. Consider why the story was written. What is it the press would have you do as a result of the story? Yes they do want you to react. Engage your mind, not simply your emotions. Reason it out. Do not let yourself be taken in by every breeze that blows.
