Looking to the Past for Strength Today
“The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine.” – 1Samuel 17:37
David gives us one tool to use in exercising our faith. What has God done for you in the past that can embolden you to do this new thing? David found courage from previous experience. So can you.
And so I ask this morning what is your giant? Perhaps it may be an illness, a disability, or maybe just a neighbor who taunts you every chance he gets. It could be the government and all the new rules. Anything that stands between you and your freedom could be called your giant. You can give in, thus being a slave to it, feeling low and put down. You can have victory over it in the name of the Lord, not letting it conquer you.
Will you stand up or will you shake in fear like Saul’s army? Victory awaits. Will you feel sorry for yourself or stand up like a man and fight?
