Renewal
“Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence. Take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:10-12
Only God can create. Man merely finds ways to use what is already created. A clean heart, only God can do that. This prayer of confession we see in Psalm 51 provides for us a guide to confession and renewal. I find myself needing to review this and pray this often because I fail to live up to the standards God has set for me.
Dear Heavenly Father I am such a needy daughter of yours. You clean me up and what do I do? I go and dirty things up again. Please forgive me and create in me a clean heart. Renew again a right spirit within me. I thank you that you do not cast me away or take your Holy Spirit from me. May the joy of my salvation return to me in Jesus name, amen.
Sometimes we need to pause and consider, shoring up our relationship with our maker. After all this is the most important relationship we have. Take some time this morning, if you haven’t already, and talk to him about where you are and where he would have you be. May God richly bless you as you find renewal and a return to joy.
