Some See a Lump of Clay, Others See a Masterpiece

But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. – Isaiah 64:8 (ESV)
Two people can look at the same lump of clay and see entirely different things. One sees something ordinary and shapeless. The other sees a beautiful sculpture waiting to be revealed.
The difference is vision.
Sometimes we look at ourselves and see only our failures, weaknesses, and unfinished work. We may wonder how God could ever use someone as imperfect as we are. But God sees beyond our present circumstances. He sees what He can accomplish as we yield our lives to Him.
The prophet Jeremiah watched a potter reshape a marred vessel into something useful (Jeremiah 18:4). Likewise, God patiently works in our lives, correcting, refining, and transforming us according to His purpose.
Don’t mistake being unfinished for being without value. God is still working on you. And while you may not understand every turn in the process, you can trust the hands of the Potter.
Reflection: Are you focusing on your imperfections, or trusting God to shape your life into something that brings Him glory?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me see my life through Your eyes. Give me patience as You shape my character, humility to accept Your correction, and faith to trust Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
