When it’s Hard to Trust
“The king was overjoyed and ordered that Daniel be lifted from the den. Not a scratch was found on him for he had trusted in his God.” Daniel 6:23
Yes the impossible can happen. Daniel did not have a mark on him and yet he spent the night with lions. He paid a visit to the home of the lions and did not become the main course. His trust in the Lord was well placed.
Yesterday we looked at Darius. Today we look at Daniel. Now Darius is happy. Daniel is safe. As for Daniel, he got through this just fine. In verse 22 he gave credit to God for his safety. This man put his very life in God’s hands. That my friends is real trust.
To trust in God when all is well is easy enough, but what about when all is not well? What is your den of lions? Is it family gatherings, your work place, an illness or something else? And when you find yourself there do you get all stressed out or do you trust that God has this under his control?
You know that you trust him when you are in the den and anxiety has not held you captive. Do you really trust God? In your personal den of lions do you truly hold on to God’s promises and simply await God’s solution? I sadly must admit that I tend to struggle with this, wanting to fix what I cannot fix. I have come to know, however, that I cannot fix everything. Only God can do that.
Let us trust God when we find ourselves in the impossible situation. Amen and amen.
