The modern church inherited many prophetic systems—charts, timelines, and interpretations that feel ancient but are actually recent. John Nelson Darby’s 19th‑century framework is one example. His ideas about a future Antichrist, a seven‑year tribulation, and a pre‑tribulation rapture became so familiar that many believers assume they are Scripture.

But familiarity is not authority.

The danger comes when repeated teachings begin to feel biblical simply because they are old, popular, or comfortable. The call of the believer is simple: return to the Word. Test every system. Hold every tradition loosely. Anchor your discernment in Scripture alone.

Prayer: Lord, strip away anything I’ve accepted without testing. Bring me back to Your Word as my only authority.
