3 Lies Monsanto Want You To Believe

Due to the enormous political clout that the Biotech industry has, the American public is being lied to. Lied to about to about what is in the prepackaged foods we eat, what is in our produce and what affects these things have on our lives… current and future.
Big Biotech is telling us that their crops result in better yields, are perfectly safe for consumption and are the solution to global hunger.
And many Americans believe it…
But the fact is we’re slowly distancing ourselves from the reality of the situation. The government is herding us – en mass – to corporate controlled foods, and as we fall victim to this lack of oversight we are heading devastating close to a threat that nature… at its worse … could never equal.
We are in an economy on the brink of collapse – we have become active (yet unwilling) participants in the very Lies and Untruths that will be our demise.
Lie #1: Genetically Modified Foods Are Safe And Pose No Threat To Your Health
The Truth: While studies with minimal independent oversight and news sources compromised by ties to Monsanto and other GMO corporations continue to spread the propaganda that GM foods are safe for human consumption, the hard evidence continues to bear out that this is not the case.
Since the widespread introduction of GM foods into the American diet in 1996, the percentage of Americans with chronic health issues has nearly doubled from 7 percent to 13 percent. Indeed, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine urges doctors to recommend non-GM diets for all patients regardless of condition.
Lie #2: Genetically Modified Crops Benefit The Environment And Pose No Threat To Nature
The Truth: GM crops do pose irreparable harm to multiple facets of the environment. Their artificially enhanced hardiness enables them to drive out naturally occurring plants by robbing them of nutrients, decreasing biodiversity.
They are also engineered to be resistant to pesticide, but as the GM crops became more widely used and more resistant so did the highly adaptable weeds that surrounded them, turning these weeds into superweeds. Which means more must be used to kill off any weeds that survive treatment.
Despite GMO companies’ constant insistence that their products represent a kind of evolution, the fact is that the current strategy of combating weeds with engineered crops that can withstand herbicides and then blasting fields with chemicals is by no means an advance in the evolution of crops.
Lie #3: Genetically Modified Foods Will Help Prevent The Coming Global Food Crisis
The Truth: The most popularly cited contention in favor of GMOs is its claimed positive effect on crop yield, but according to a definitive 2009 report by an independent research organization known as the Union of Concerned Scientists, GM crops experience no increase in yield and even saw a decline in some cases. GM crops are classified as the intellectual property of the source company and are illegal to reproduce.
Even more troubling, the core issue surrounding the coming global food crisis stems from a lack of infrastructure in the most at need countries. It has little to nothing to do with a need for improved crop yield. Basically, Biotech companies are using the food crisis as an avenue to get their trademarked Crops to the rest of the world… and to increase their profits.
