Does God intervene in world affairs without first revealing it to His prophets?
Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. – Amos 3:7
Thousands of years ago, God revealed to His prophet Isaiah a time when He would establish His government here on earth.
This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem: In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say,” Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths. “The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. – Isaiah 2:1-3
Jerusalem is front and center in God’s plan. Because the Jewish people revolted against God, He destroyed their temple, their way of life, and sent them into exile. But, God is not finished with Jerusalem. Jesus Christ came to this earth and died for all our sins… including those of the Jews. No longer were the Jewish people God’s ONLY people… but Gentiles were grafted into the body and were to extend His kingdom throughout the world.
Is it to be a literal world-ruling kingdom?
In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. – Daniel 2:44
Yes, God promised a kingdom that will never be destroyed and I believe He set up that kingdom with Christ that will endure forever.
Daniel 2:1-49 tells us about King Nebuchadnezzar who had dreams that troubled him. He summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. God gives people of all stripes visions of His will.
Many peoples will come and say,” Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths. “The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. – Isaiah 2:3
The very One who created man is coming to establish the government of God on earth, and to teach man the way to peace – to guide his inventive genius entirely into peaceful channels.
