America the Beautiful: A Nation Founded on Faith

America’s grand experiment in freedom is collapsing right in front of us. We are watching anti‑God forces of collectivism seep into every corner of society, and the tragic part is this: the vast majority of Americans are welcoming it. Even many churches—those who claim the name of Christ—have embraced ideas that oppose the very truth they were called to uphold.
Like an alcoholic who refuses to admit his condition until he hits rock bottom, our nation has not yet reached the point of desperation. We continue spiraling downward, blind to our own degeneration.
Mark my words… life may feel comfortable today, but that comfort is fading. What’s coming is not pleasant, and we have no one to blame but ourselves.
But it doesn’t have to end this way.
Before anything can change, we must put our own house in order and return to God.
- We must humble ourselves,
- We must pray,
- We must seek His face, and
- We must repent—turn from our wicked ways.
If we refuse, if we continue down this path of rebellion and self‑made “solutions,” then judgment will come. We will suffer through the chaos and destruction that follows a nation’s rejection of God. And when that day arrives, your broken cisterns—those man‑made substitutes for truth—will be useless.
Alexander Hamilton once described America as a “grand experiment,” and I believe God guided the founders as they established this nation we now call the United States of America. They wove their belief in God into the very fabric of our founding documents and sought to honor His truth in the Constitution. Because of that foundation, the people were blessed, and the world witnessed the birth and rise of what became the greatest modern nation on earth.
That spirit was beautifully captured in 1893 when Katharine Lee Bates penned the patriotic hymn America the Beautiful, a tribute to the land God allowed to flourish.
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
Wake up Christians!
And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. – Romans 13:11
