The Beginning of Wisdom
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding.” — Psalm 111:10
Wisdom doesn’t begin with intelligence, education, or experience. It begins with reverence—a heart that trembles at God’s Word and delights in His commands. Scripture makes it plain: those who truly understand God’s Word will walk in obedience. And those who refuse to obey—whether through neglect, pride, or compromise—reveal a shallow and incomplete understanding of the truth.
To know God’s law and ignore it is not innocence;
it is accountability.
Today, many have traded God’s commands for the opinions and traditions of men. It’s not new—Jesus confronted the same spirit in the Pharisees. But the consequences remain unchanged. Blessings follow obedience. Curses follow rebellion. Deuteronomy 4–30 lays this out with sobering clarity. God tells us exactly what life looks like when we honor His ways… and exactly what happens when we reject them.
People often ask, “If God is loving, why does He allow so much suffering in the world?” The answer is not hidden. It’s written plainly in Deuteronomy 28.
God’s law does not save us—Christ alone does. Salvation is not earned by works; it is secured by grace. As Romans 3:20 says, “Through the law we become conscious of sin.” The law reveals our condition; it does not redeem it. But while obedience does not determine our eternal destiny, it absolutely shapes the quality of our life on earth.
The consequences of sin are real. The blessings of obedience are real. This is not about salvation—it’s about outcomes.
And hear this clearly: God does not desire to bring judgment on America or any nation. His heart is not destruction but restoration. His desire is always to bless, to heal, to redeem.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” — Jeremiah 29:11
God’s plan is peace. His intention is blessing. But His blessings flow where His commands are honored.
So today, return to the fear of the Lord. Return to His Word. Return to obedience that springs from love, not legalism.
Wisdom begins there. Blessing begins there. Life begins there.
