What is Truth?
What is truth?, you might ask. That’s what Pilate asked Jesus (John 18:38), and people are still asking today. The Greek word used in Scripture for truth is alétheia [Strongs 225]. In ancient Greek culture, alḗtheia was synonymous for “reality” as the opposite of illusion, i.e. fact. Truth is that which is real, not an illusion.
